PLAYGROUP

Age - 2 years

We have a broad and balanced curriculum for the Playgroup with a wide range of activities that integrate cognitive, physical, social, communicative, cultural, self – help and fine motor skills. To this end, the children are engaged in exciting, play – based activities that make them curious  to learn. When they mold clay to learn about the shapes of alphabets and numerals, or create flamingos from cutouts on pink day, watch enactment of stories with puppets or print with vegetables and leaves, they are given the freedom to learn through sensory experiences.

Educating children about transportation, community helpers, making them plant seeds, increase their awareness of the world. Group activities with their peers, celebrations, sports and competitions improve their social skills. Good manners and etiquette are also inculcated by teachers. Throughout the learning process, we seek the active involvement of parents and train them in our methods of teaching. This  educational approach allows numerous opportunities for students to have hands – on, direct experiences with society, objects and events.

NURSERY

Age - 3 years

The curriculum for Nursery takes the skills  acquired in the Playgroup to an advanced level. Matching progressive activities are initiated to complement the growing cognitive, physical, social, self – help and motor skills of students. Writing of numerals and alphabets is introduced through fun activities. In the same manner, colors, opposites and shapes are also learnt. Children enjoy songs, rhymes, books, movies  and stories. They learn to communicate, share, interact more with friends and respect elders.

Outdoor games enhance gross motor skills and co – ordination. Yoga increases flexibility, strength and body awareness. They explore the world of science through seasonal activities and cooking experiences. Educational field – trips, picnics with parents and festivals  expands their social and cultural awareness even further. Participating in the Annual day event explores their talent in the performing arts. They develop a rich vocabulary through daily interactions with teachers. They are also taught self – sufficiency and self – reliance by engaging in age – appropriate chores like putting things away, pouring water and cleaning. Through this  approach of exploratory learning in a loving and caring environment, we help create well – groomed students with a sound foundation, ready to step onto their next level of studies.

We have also educated differently abled children. Special care is given to such students and they have responded well to our efforts. We are proud to see them pursue further education.
